This would be my first not only Piston\u2019s game but NBA game, so my expectations were high.\u00a0 I had only heard bad things about Detroit Piston\u2019s basketball.\u00a0 Everything from, \u201cthey\u2019re probably the worst team in the NBA\u201d to \u201clast time I went to a game the tickets were dirt cheap and there were barely any fans there\u201d.\u00a0 These are all the preconceived notions I already had of the Detroit Pistons but I was hoping to be surprised.\u00a0 Thankfully that surprise came on that Friday night when we arrived to The Palace Auburn Hill\u2019s Arena.\u00a0 Parking was hard enough to find and on top of that the traffic exiting from the highway took a lot longer than expected.\u00a0 But as we took our seats I realized that the place was packed and all I saw was blue and red.\u00a0 The game was exciting but another plus was the half-time show put on by dance groups in Detroit and a drum line from the area as well.\u00a0 It was great to see the stadium filled with smiling faces as we all enjoyed this entertainment.\u00a0\u00a0 Not only were the fans rowdy and uplifting but you could see the energy from the crowd gave the players a new sense of purpose and the belief that they are playing for a city that actually cares.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30\" alt=\"Dbball\" src=\"http:\/\/challengedetroit.org\/royyewah\/files\/2013\/11\/Dbball.jpg\" width=\"211\" height=\"153\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/challengedetroit.org\/royyewah\/files\/2013\/11\/DBball2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-31\" alt=\"DBball2\" src=\"http:\/\/challengedetroit.org\/royyewah\/files\/2013\/11\/DBball2.jpg\" width=\"156\" height=\"161\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All this realization was a sign that Detroit is definitely on its way back to the lively city it used to be.\u00a0\u00a0 If this many fans can come support their NBA team then citizens of Detroit can come together as one and support their city.<\/p>\n<p>Let that thought sink in.
