It\u2019s been a quick 6 months, but as I look back at my time spent in Detroit as part of this amazing fellowship, I can truly say that it has exceeded my expectations.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Challenge Detroit has taught me three key things: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Don\u2019t judge a book by its cover.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Appreciate what you have in life.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Be a positive leader in your own way and behave accordingly every day because you never know who\u00a0is watching and there are people who look up to you.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, don\u2019t judge a book by its cover can be related to the outside world\u2019s perception of Detroit or judging the people that you meet.\u00a0 People love to talk about Detroit like they\u2019ve been there but you\u2019ll never be able to fully understanding the potential this city has unless you truly experience it first-hand. Not just coming through for a sports game or concert but actually living and socializing here (downtown and in the neighborhoods).\u00a0 Appreciate what you have in life because there are many other people doing worse than you whether you know it or not.\u00a0 Finally, every day you are being watched by someone, and it is up to you to leave a lasting impression.\u00a0 So behave like a positive leader in your own way, and build your brand that will make people take notice or even follow suit (for the misguided children). <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
