Our fifth challenge is in partnership with the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy (DRFC), the custodians of the Detroit River Walk and the Dequindre Cut. Before our challenge started, I knew the River walk was a special place for me. I grew up sailing on the water and knew I would need to spend time near the water to be happy.<\/p>\n

Then winter hit.<\/p>\n

Seasonal depression grasped me in it’s spiky talons. The city become very quiet during the winter. It was hard to imagine all the energy that would fill the streets come spring. Yet, spring did come! finally! With it came our partnership with the Detroit River Front Conservancy. In one day I saw the history of the river front, the magnificent change it has gone through, and the future the DRFC has planned and I immediately felt a resurgence of passion and hope for a sunny, vibrant summer.<\/p>\n
