Awesome, congratulations! This phase of the application asks for a blog and video submission. You\u2019re probably thinking to yourself:<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cShoot, I\u2019ve never created a video for anything, what am I supposed to do?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Therefore, we\u2019ve compiled our top five tips that will not only enhance your application video, but also alleviate some of your questions.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><b>Don\u2019t wait until the last minute!<\/b><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve all experienced procrastination at some level. This is not the time for it. Making a video takes time several iterations until you know the video you produced will WOW the application review panel and rock the online vote. Think about the amount of time you plan to spend making this video\u2026 then triple it!<\/p>\n<p><b>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><b>Tell us your story<\/b><\/p>\n<p>We all come from different backgrounds with unique experiences. This is what makes Challenge Detroit so special. It\u2019s the culmination of each Fellow\u2019s diverse background that is a distinguishing trait of this program. A strong narrative is key to your story!<\/p>\n<p><b>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><b>Take a risk<\/b><\/p>\n<p>You only have 60-seconds to tell us your story. Be clear, concise and to the point. But, don\u2019t let that stop you from innovating. It\u2019s up to you to define your constraints and take us on a journey. Be creative!<\/p>\n<p><b>4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><b>Share your passion<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Remember the prompt: \u201cCreate a one-minute video reflecting your desire to participate in Challenge Detroit.\u201d Tell us what you\u2019re passionate about. Why do you want to live, work, play, give, and lead in Detroit?<\/p>\n<p><b>5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><b>Don\u2019t be afraid to be you<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Who knows you better than you? Be authentic and original. This video is all about YOU and your interest in becoming a Challenge Detroit Fellow. We want to learn more about you!<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve never made a video before, take this as an opportunity to step outside of your comfort zone. The equipment you own will be enough. Your 60-second spot doesn\u2019t have to be a Stephen Spielberg production, but rather an original creation by you.
