Grabbing some food with my cohort before heading to the Michigan Governor’s Service Awards ceremony where Challenge Detroit was being recognized.<\/p><\/div>\n

Before becoming a fellow, I had many jobs in the past that were extremely negative environments. I felt like I was a robot that did not have the opportunity to think for myself or to try new ideas. When I started working at DTE Energy which is my host company, I stepped into an environment that was a complete 180 from what I was used to.<\/span><\/p>\n

My team at DTE energy is one of the most competent and supportive groups that I have ever had the chance to work with. They allow me to ask as many questions as I need and as often as I need. I see my ideas and talents being put into action and valued by the executives and my immediate supervisor.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is the same experience that I have had working with the other fellows, and our challenge partners. The environment is one where I am able to share my ideas. On the last challenge project, members of my team appreciated my skills and talent. We would work together to take the ideas that I had and modify them to more effectively work for our project. <\/span><\/p>\n

So far this fellowship has been a very unique and rewarding experience in which I have grown as a professional.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0About Donald:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Donald Stuckey II, Detroit, MI. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University in Political Science. I have two Master\u2019s degrees\u2014one from Wayne State University in Dispute Resolution and the other from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in Public Administration and Policy. As a side hustle and hobby, I enjoy photography. I also enjoy casual video gaming. Over the last several years I’ve come to enjoy staying healthy by doing cardio and strength training multiple times during the week.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you are looking to build a rewarding career, especially here in Detroit, with the added benefit of serving the Detroit community, you should look no further than Challenge Detroit.
