Wow, is it already August of 2014?? \u00a0This year flew by so fast, I feel like I’m still getting used to the city.<\/p>\n

Around March of 2013 as I was preparing for life after undergraduate school, I thought to myself “I have a bachelors degree in Economics and a keen interest in entrepreneurship, how do\u00a0 I want to use that to contribute to society?”\u00a0 Like most of my peers I was looking at taking the finance route and working for a fortune 500 company, and then Challenge Detroit caught my attention.\u00a0 A fellowship focused on the revitalization of Detroit, MI, while working together with 30+ like-minded individuals, I had read enough and decided to apply.\u00a0 After the grueling 4 phase process, I had officially been accepted to the program and would be working with my host company Crestmark Bank\u00a0in a finance rotational role.<\/p>\n

Challenge Detroit was\u00a0so much more than your average 9-5\u00a0JOB.\u00a0 It was an opportunity to make a name for yourself in one of the biggest and most influential cities in the nation, while working with non-profits week by week to play a role in the revitalization of the city.\u00a0 Where do you get the chance to network with the movers and shakers of a city like Detroit (the motor capital of the nation), bounce ideas around with other top-performing, like-minded young professionals, and play major roles in the resurgence of different non-profits? The answer is Challenge Detroit.\u00a0 I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the city of Detroit, and thanks to Challenge Detroit my professional and personal network has dramatically increased.<\/p>\n
